My name is Katie Anne Casey (age 19) and i'm Alice Elizabeth Calkins' great grandaughter. I cannot begin to describe the pain and sadness the loss of my great
grandmother has effected not only me, but my sisters Tamara and Cindy, my mother Justine, my cousin Sherry and everyone she knew. Anyone who knew her loved her dearly, she made it impossible not to. She truely was an AMAZING woman, a true role model and we were all so so so lucky to have her in our lives as long as we did. My cousin Sherry, my sister Tamara and myself knew her as 'grandma bob' because of her late husband Robert (Bob) Calkins. Whenever something was wrong as a child, i'd go to grandma bob and she'd make it all better.She was the most knowledgeable, caring, forgiving, understanding, supportive, positive, loving and very strong. She was ALWAYS there when i needed her, when anyone needed her. Noone can describe how
much she is loved and missed. She will never be forgotten and i'll hold her memory close to my heart for as long as I live. I pray that she knows that. She used to tell me that she had a 'green thumb' because she found her peace in gardening. I deeply hope that she's found that peace again where she is now because if anyone deserves peace, she
does.
